UNAM Foreign Rights 2015

The largest publishing house in the Spanish-speaking world, unam averages 1500 printed and 500 electronic titles per year. Focusing on literature and state-of-the-art research in Spanish for the sciences and humanities, it is also the largest Mexican publisher of books on translation. For over a century, unam has published the most outstanding academic writers of modern Mexico. This is a selection of works by unam’s most renowned authors whose foreign rights are available. These titles cover topics ranging from the basic foundations of Mexican culture to universal philosophy, like Vasconcelos’s Ulises Criollo, León-Portilla’s Visión de los vencidos and La filosofía náhuatl, Bonifaz Nuño’s Antología general, and Xirau’s Introducción a la historia de la filosofía, classics in the Spanish-speaking world. Escenógrafo del cine mexicano or Los cafés en México en el siglo xix–new, gripping releases–; subjects on science and technology and children’s literature: Números y estrellas mayas, Conozcamos de nanotecnología, Aventuras de Rigoberto or biodiversity, as well as books on mexican gastronomy such as Sazones y andanzas por el Centro Histórico de la Ciudad de México and Los chiles rellenos en México; and finally, editions on contemporary art, derived from the exhibitions at unam’s Contemporary Art Museum. These works will surely prove to be of interest to all universities and humanities-oriented publishers.
