“José Rosas Moreno is widely considered one of the best fabulist and lyrical poet since he has remained current in Mexican and Latin-American literature” Informador MX About the authors José Rosas Moreno (Lagos de Moreno, Jalisco, 1838-León, Guanajuato, 1883) was a student of the San Gregorio School, a journalist, liberal congressman and author of the best Mexican fables. Rosas Moreno wrote drama for children, Mexican history in verse and reading books for children. During a time of forgetfulness and despise for his work, he premiered a piece on Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz. He has often been called the “Childhood Poet”. Manuel Gutiérrez Najera (Mexico City, 1859-1895) began writing since a very early age. He worked several genres, both in prose and verse. He was a remarkable journalist, mainly dedicated to characters, customs and events in Mexico City. Amado Nervo (Tepic, Nayarit, 1870-Montevideo, Uruguay, 1919) was a poet, novelist and essayist. He was usually considered a modernist because of his style and his time, although this can be easily nuanced due to his mysticism and sadness, especially in his final works. He progressively abandoned these technical features towards the end of his life.
